moor the sky, inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the sunset sinking into the sea at Naoetsu in Niigata Prefecture, is a large-scale installation that sought to capture the natural scenery of that moment without disrupting it. The ebb and flow of the tides and the changing colors of the sky guided the design of this piece. A system was created where at high tide, seawater fills the containers, and at low tide, it remains as puddles, reflecting the sky in geometric forms. Through this system, nature itself shapes the artwork, constantly mirroring the ever-changing beauty of the evening sea. Local residents actively volunteered to maintain the piece by cleaning up debris, creating moments of heightened environmental awareness in the process. This artwork not only reflects the beauty of nature but also reminds people of the fleeting nature of the sea and the responsibility to protect it. Led by the group Space Production Lab., with Yumeo as a key member, this project became the catalyst for the formation of OSOTO lab for Takatoku.
